SARA MISHLER MARTINS & SEKOU SOUMAH

MEET SARA!

YMA Dance students spend the majority of time developing skills in modern and African dance. In addition to the physical work of the dance classes, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about dance history, African cultural concepts, injury prevention, the realities and options of a dance career, and how to prepare for an audition.

The YMA Dance faculty comprises outstanding professional dancers who are teachers and choreographers dedicated to sharing their art and developing the complete dancer. The program offers classes for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students, so you’ll be placed according to ability level and experience after the group audition on the first day of camp.

As a Dance student, you’ll have several performance opportunities, including student recitals and the Final Performance, during which you’ll perform with live musicians.
