The creative writing program is open to students of all abilities and writing backgrounds. Those who have learned to fear writing are as welcome as those who love it. The emphasis will be on providing a positive, rigorous, lively environment in which to learn the fundamentals of writing short stories, poems, and one-act plays.

The intent of this class is to give concentrated attention to each student's natural ability. This is a program to foster the imagination and build the self-esteem necessary for success in all future writing projects, both personal and academic.

Registered students are asked to submit a one page writing sample (poem, story, lines of dialogue, or an essay). The sample is solely for the purpose of familiarizing the instructor with the student's writing.
