Musical Theatre

Session Two

Faculty: ALYSSA GIBSON & CHRIS MEADE

Want to sing, act, and dance? The Musical Theatre program at YMA offers hands-on experience in how to rehearse and perform musical theatre. You’ll learn vocal technique, choreography, history, presentation, the production process, and all the skills essential to becoming a proficient musical theatre performer. Dynamic rehearsals provide a platform for honing your skills in a fun, supportive atmosphere where you can share your love of performing with other like-minded young actors.

In addition to a group number that includes all Musical Theatre students, you’ll work on a scene with a small ensemble. In both cases, you’ll receive targeted instruction from our Musical Theatre faculty members, who are professionals with plenty of performance experience and a love of passing along their craft to the next generation. All Musical Theatre students will perform the group number at the Final Performance, and some small ensembles will have the opportunity to perform at other camp performances.
